Newsletter 4 - November 2016
Dear Family friends and supporters.
It's the 21st of November 2016 and all is going so well here in Nepal.
We and now in Pokhara which is about 200 kilometres from Kathmandu visiting a children's home we visited in 2013, where we supplied them with a new bore hole pump, pipe-work, and electrics.
We will be having a meeting with them this week to see if there's anything that needs doing there, will keep you posted on the meeting and progress on the next newsletter.
Also when we were here in 2013 we visited a Tibetan old peoples settlement camp and bought them flannels, towels, toothpaste and brushes and a very large board game to keep there minds ticking over, they are aged between 80 to 96 year old.
Well we have revisited the camp once again and there all still smiling and happy to see us once again, We asked them if they would like us to buy them some gifts and the answer were yes please, we need socks, towels and soap this time, so off to the wholesalers we go and bought 48 pairs of socks, 24 different coloured towels, and 24 bars of soap, we also took over to Nepal with us reading glasses and distributed them out to the 24 residents,
We stayed in the Tibetan monastery which is about 15 minutes walk from the camp, they supply four meals a day, help yourself meals with a basic room, like toilet, shower, basin, all for £11 per day.
As I mentioned in our last email we have now left the village to let them carry on now with the building works to the new school, there was not a lot we can do there until it's finished which will be in February, 2017.
We will return to the school next year some time to do the painting and interior works, this will be stage two off the works, i.e. solar panel lighting, desks and benches, blackboards, books and bookcases,
Don't forget your the people who helped put us here today, so a big tap on the back to you all and we thank you all very much and a big thank you from the people on Nepal, who are very grateful indeed.
Kindest regards,
Bob and Jenny
